We are so excited to be representing England at the Dance World cup finals, in June 2022.
Dance World Cup is the largest all genre dance competition for children and young adults in the world, with representatives from 62 countries. Each year over 120,000 dancers from around the world try to qualify to represent their country at the finals. With each country only having 4 places available per age group and genre, qualifying for the finals is a huge achievement.
Last year, two of our dancers entered and qualified for the finals, competing in solos and duets. They brought back 3 gold medals and world titles and 2 silver positions. This was an incredible achievement for our local dance school and amazing dancers.
The finals are held in a different country each year, this year it is in San Sebastian in Spain.
We are very proud to have qualified with 13 dances – 4 solos, 3 duets and 6 groups, and to be taking over 20 of our dancers.
This amazing opportunity comes with many costs including flights, accommodation, costumes, events fees, uniform and more.
At Shine we have always prided our self on being an inclusive dance school that gives everyone equal opportunities, so we are all on a mission to fundraise and help cover these costs - ensuring that every dancer can participate.
